When my son played basketball from ages 5-18, there was nothing more frustrating than dealing with sports organizations that didn’t communicate schedule changes, websites not kept up to date, and just unorganized.
I would become frustrated and unfortunately, that frustration would be felt by my son. That caused him to no longer have fun playing the sport he loved.
I’ve been everything from a parent sitting in the stands, a coach, a referee and a Athletic Director. After becoming a partner in an basketball league, our focus was on making sure our players, parents and staff had a great experience being a part of our organization.
I also realized that with everything it takes to run a sports organization, sometimes things fall through the cracks. Especially when you’re a volunteer and you only have so much time. Even with software to make some tasks easier, it still wasn’t enough.
Managing a sports organization takes more than software.
